The AndoverPrep difference
Andover-specific feedback, on your student's own words.
The four questions Andover parents ask us most, answered plainly.
01
Who is reading my child's essay?
An EduAvenues instructor, not software. Your student gets line-by-line notes on their Andover essay response, and you get notes on the parent statement, usually within 7 business days.
Applicants submit an essay response through Gateway to Prep Schools.
02
Is this actually preparing my child for Andover?
Lessons follow Andover's own application: the essay response, the graded writing sample, the video response, the parent statement, and the interview.
After the Candidate Profile, applicants submit a graded writing sample, an essay response, a short video response, a parent/guardian statement, current and previous grades, and four recommendations.
03
How does this fit into a busy school year?
It is online and self-paced. Your student works in short sessions around classes, sports, and family time, with no fixed class to miss and a real instructor to answer questions.
04
What about the interview and the video?
Both are part of the application, and both get easier with practice. Your student rehearses answers out loud until they sound like a conversation, not a script.
The interview is Step 2 of Andover's application; applicants choose an on-campus interview, a virtual interview, or an interview recording.
