- Application
- As of October 6, 2026, Andover's application for fall 2027 entry is open.
- Application due
- For fall 2027 entry, the admission application deadline is February 1, 2027.
- What to submit
- After the Candidate Profile, applicants submit a graded writing sample, an essay response, a short video response, a parent/guardian statement, current and previous grades, and four recommendations.
- Testing
- Applicants submit one of these tests: the Upper Level SSAT, the Upper Level ISEE, the PSAT, the SAT, or the ACT.
- Interview
- The interview is Step 2 of Andover's application; applicants choose an on-campus interview, a virtual interview, or an interview recording.
- Financial aid
- For fall 2027 entry, the financial aid application deadline is February 1, 2027, the same day as the admission deadline.
- Decisions
- Andover lists March 10 as its admission decision release date.
- 01
Submit the Candidate Profile first, since the interview scheduler opens only after it.
- 02
Choose one accepted test, take a full timed practice test, and register for a date with room for a second sitting.
- 03
Pick the graded writing sample early, ideally a recent piece with the teacher’s comments on it.
- 04
Draft the essay and plan the video response in the fall, and keep the parent statement in the parent’s own voice.
- 05
Prepare for the interview with two or three real stories and one or two genuine questions about daily life at the school.
- 06
If you are applying for aid, start the aid application early so both pieces are done before the deadline.
- 07
In mid January, check that every piece shows as received, including score reports sent by the testing company.
Dates and rules can change. Check each one on the school's own admissions pages.
